Volunteering with us
Would you like to volunteer with BeFriends?
Our volunteers are in a position of trust, offering support in a caring and responsible way to young people. A high degree of commitment is required alongside the ability to work within organisational boundaries and procedures.
Volunteers are required to undergo an enhanced PVG disclosure check and provide two satisfactory references before being accepted to work with our children and young people. We provide initial and ongoing training that provides you with appropriate level of guidance and information to be a befriender. Ongoing support and advice can be sought at anytime by contacting our staff team or our out of hours support line.
We are always looking for people with the right skills to volunteer and help BeFriends develop and grow. If you want to gain experience and think you have skills we need please do get in touch admin@befriends.org.uk.
We could not provide the services that we do without our tremendous team of volunteers. Our volunteers are a trusted and integral part of BeFriends. We believe our volunteering opportunities provide the opportunity for you to gain valuable skills and experience as much as it enables service users and young people to grow and develop.
